“Vinnaithaandi Varuvaaya..” : Inspired !

If you had ever fallen in love in your college days, you should not miss this movie ! It’s just like a sweet & mild zephyr !!

“Vinnaithaandi Varuvaaya..”

A fantastic melody of Love portrayed by Goutham Menon ! It was simple, cool, calm & sweet.

The movie began with a typical Goutham Menon style, a quick ramp up & background introduction of hero & his mode. Just like in Minnale, Kakka Kakka, Veetayadu Vilayadu & Varanam Ayiram, a brief synopsis of Karthik & his life. Slowly the story got widen with the introduction of Jessy. There starts the magical chemistry of Menon, Simbu & Trisha. I bet you, this will be really a huge break for Simbu’s career ! I find him like a genius film lover who has tried his luck in Direction, Acting, Music & Playback. But it took him a long time to showcase his talent suitably to the public. His prior movies were either roofed with some crap actions or with some punching dialogues though there are some exceptions like Manmadhan & Vallavan. But it’s not bad that he was welcomed by Menon to portray the guy who loved a girl deeply in his life and he fulfilled Menon’s prospects quite very well. Trisha looks really awesome in saree & churidar where she also got a relief from typical heroine roles. Her beauty added a lot more to the film from beginning till the end. Another perceptible character was Simbu’s friend who proved himself with his timing humour. Rest of the actors had nothing to do much in this film.

As usual, no words to explain the magical music by A.R Rahman. Specially, the songs “Armomalle..” & “Omanappenne.. “. It’s like a slow triumph. You will start loving these songs after hearing it for 2nd or 3rd time and then, you won’t forget this in your entire life. We salute you !

Photography and Locations were really picturesque. Specially the songs were captured in reality. But I found the repetition of rap dance of foreigners in most of the songs. I guess Menon was quite impressed with their performance in “Adiye kolluthe..” from VaranamAyiram! The sweet mannerism of Simbu when he talks to Trisha is also awesome. Again the same repetition of mannerism from Surya’s performance from Vaaranam Ayiram !

And the last, Goutham Menon ! You are amazing.. really amazing ! The entire movie is yours only.. A different craft of film making. I feel, it’s really a challenge to tell only a love story from beginning to end with two leads! Nowhere in the movie we could find any sub stories or unwanted sequences. The climax score more in the film where the audience felt the height of twist !

A must watch movie !
